CCM Jetspeed line has been a favourite for shoulder pads in the pro scene for year since before the line was rebranded Jetspeed. CCM U+ CL (Crazy Light) were a player favourite for their exposed foams, extreme lightweight, and mobile design. CCM continued with another excellent pair with the RBZ shoulder pads, but after that the changes didn’t seem to be always positive, and the were no longer the instantly sought after lightweight design where pro players would continue to use the older models.
With the CCM Jetspeed FT4 Pro shoulder pads, CCM returned to what made these extremely successful and the design very similar to the 🐐 U+ CL and RBZ. But there were some issues…

With the Jetspeed FT6 Pro, CCM has listened to feedback and updated the uncomfortable liners while also adding in AER-TEC making these my favourite light weight shoulder pads. They also updated the attachment points on the shoulder caps that allow for a wider range of movement compared to the older U+ CL models.
AER-TEC is a fantastic feature seen across the FT6 Pro line that helps cool you down with strategic vent holes and Suspension liner that helps cool air enter through the equipment and cools off the player. Cooling your body helps athletes perform at their peak for longer periods, so AER-TEC bringing cold air from the ice is a contributing factor and really makes a difference. I could feel the air coming through the bicep guards specifically on these shoulder pads.
While I normally prefer bulkier and more protective shoulder pads for shot blocking, the CCM Jetspeed FT6 Pro are so mobile and lightweight they have become my go to pair and it is going to be hard to get out of them.
