Vaughn SLR 70 degree (580 style) goalie catching glove review

Thanks to Just Hockey I was able to take a look at the Vaughn SLR 4 Pro Carbon 70 degree catching glove, test it out, and give it a review. I have also teamed up with Just Hockey to offer a exclusive discount code for all Vaughn SLR 4 gear on their website. So make sure you check out the video on YouTube and find the code in the pinned comment!

Previously Vaughn offered the 70 degree and 60 degree gloves on their XP line of gloves which I have reviewed in the past. Now Vaughn has completely changed the offerings for the SLR 4 line and have removed their traditional 45/55/75 (every brand measures differently… it was a 600 style of break) degree offering. Since 580 (measured as 90 degree by True, CCM, and Bauer) gloves are becoming ever more popular from social media hype, Vaughn dipped their toes into the craze and this 70 degree glove is their take on the infamous break angle.

While I am generally not a fan of 580 style of gloves, the differences and feel of the Vaughn SLR 4 70 degree would make me give it a try on a custom set. The different tee design also allows for better puck seal on the ice while covering a loose puck.

Watch the full review of the Vaughn SLR 4 70 degree glove below! Make sure you check out Just Hockey if you are ordering custom goalie gear (Canada and US customers!) and let them know you came from Hockey Reviews! Exclusive discount offer on Vaughn SLR 4 gear through the pinned comment on YouTube!

While I also hate to promote my other things, it has become evident to me it is important to get a viewer base that will help me continue doing reviews like this (I can’t afford to always buy new equipment!).
