CCM Pro Spec goalie chest protector & the NHL AB18 comparison review

For years, I have been asking companies to release their NHL only equipment at the retail level so players and goalies alike wouldn’t have to try and beat the reseller rush of pro stock equipment so you could get the same level of protection and quality that the NHL players get. Hockey goalie chest protectors were no different and finally, CCM has released one of the most used chest and arm protectors in the NHL to the public in the form of this CCM Pro Spec chest.

Thanks to Just Hockey (affiliate link) for lending me one of their CCM Pro Spec chest protectors so I could compare it against my favourite chest, the pro stock AB18 I’ve been using for the last few years. Without their help I wouldn’t have been able to check this chest out, and I was afraid to buy one for sizing & arm protection reasons based on my history with the AB18. Watch the video below to see how impressed I am with the CCM Pro Spec goalie chest protector!

I was hesitant to buy one of these because of the gaps on the top of my arms for the Fit 3 that I had. Traditionally I wore a Large chest protector, and I didn’t want to jump into a Fit 4 incase the arms were far too long. After checking out the Fit 3 and Fit 4 next to each other, my ideal size would be a Fit 3 body with Fit 4 arms. Since this is the “perfect” fit for me yet, I will still be waiting until I move on from my AB18 & Warrior X4 Pro+ chest for the moment.

Huge credit to the people over at CCM for actually releasing this chest at the retail level. Pro Stock chests are often searched for, and I had to buy my AB18 unit VERY used a few years ago. The CCM Pro Spec is so good it is an easy recommendation for me and is easily the best product CCM goalie has and is problem the best chest protector you can buy today. Which you should go grab at Just Hockey (affiliate link) to support the channel and the store for helping me with this comparison review!

While I also hate to promote my other things, it has become evident to me it is important to get a viewer base that will help me continue doing reviews like this (I can’t afford to always buy new equipment!).
