I have been exclusively wearing cut resistant hockey socks for over a decade now focusing on protecting my calves and Achilles from skate cuts. Because of the gruesome events in the hockey world for the past few years, the focus on cut resistant socks, wrist guards, and neck guards has significantly increased. While this post will go through some of Cutshield’s history and products, a full review and my own cut test can be found at the bottom of the post on YouTube! Like all of my affiliate links, I tested out Cutshield’s products before I would consider to promote them and become an affiliate.
Enter Cutshield Hockey (affiliate link), who have been making cut resistant hockey accessories since 2010. I first got interested in Cutshield because of their wrist slash guards that have pockets to hold Evoshield or Zoombang guards to help protect from slashes. I could get the best of both worlds, with cut resistant wrist sleeves as well as slash protection that also helps secure elbow pads in place!
Cutshield also offers their Pro-Air 6 socks (affiliate link) socks which offer ASTM A6 cut resistant properties, of which I have tested and now prefer because of their extremely thin foot section that allows a better skate fit and a very smooth and not scratchy feel cut resistant ankle and leg portion. Their products are worn across all levels of hockey players including many players in the NHL as show below with the grey wrist guards and the labelled socks!
Finally, Cutshield also offer their Halo Neck Guard (affiliate link) which I will be reviewing separately but the post above should give a solid idea of the coverage of their Neck Guard.
While I am extremely satisfied with Cutshield’s line of products, I highly recommend watching the full review below where I go into detail why I recommend each individual piece and where I do a very un-scientific cut test of a spare wrist guard that I had. Even with my very picky fit for skates, their Pro-Air 6 socks (affiliate link) are thin enough that they don’t negatively affect already tight fitting skates.
If this video and article helped you, it would be greatly appreciated if you helped support this channel by buying hockey equipment through these links (I get a kick back in sales) if you are in the US at Pure Hockey or if you are in Canada through Hockey Supremacy
While I also hate to promote my other things, it has become evident to me it is important to get a viewer base that will help me continue doing reviews like this (I can’t afford to always buy new equipment!).
