To start this review right off the bat and cover the elephant in the room, even though these Sherwood Encrypt 1 gloves are being labelled as “Pro Stock,” they are really a retail Sherwood Encrypt 1 glove with NHL and pro team colourways. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing though…
Thanks to HockeyStickMan, they are offering a 15% discount on these Sherwood Code Encrypt 1 & Rekker Lenged Pro gloves with the exclusive code found in the video below!
Previously I reviewed the Sherwood Rekker Element One “Pro Stock” gloves from HockeyStickMan and I REALLY enjoyed them minus the Kevlar palm overlay, which is great for durability but awful for overall feel. HockeyStickMan is now offering these Encrypt 1 “Pro Stock” gloves that have a nicer AX Suede palm without the Kevlar overlay and in a bunch of excellent and unique NHL and pro team colourways. The gloves I got here are Winnipeg Jets RCAF Centennial, but you can find some amazing Reverse Retro colourways as well.
Check out the full review below and on YouTube where I do the texture grip palm test as well as the 3D Printed hand test to get the correct fit and sizing of the Sherwood Code Encrypt 1 hockey gloves.
While these Sherwood Encrypt 1 gloves are not actually pro stock gloves. They offer pretty solid protection with dual density foams and plastic inserts. The cuff roll could be improved with a plastic insert and more padding behind it since their flex cuff design doesn’t really flex so the gap in protection isn’t needed. The excellent feel for palm materials is solid and the overall dexterity in the glove is pretty good. At the stock price for these gloves they are hard to beat, with the excellent colour choices it allows me to easily recommend these gloves. While you don’t quite get pro stock feel and protection. You get a tonne of sizes available and unique colourways.
This review wouldn’t have been possible without the help of HockeyStickMan, so if you want to support the channel make sure you grab that code from the video and get a pair of the Sherwood gloves mentioned for that discount! While I don’t get a kick back from the sales, it shows HockeyStickMan that sending me these gloves is helpful to them and hopefully we can work together in the future!
While I also hate to promote my other things, it has become evident to me it is important to get a viewer base that will help me continue doing reviews like this (I can’t afford to always buy new equipment!).
