From the outside, the new True goalie lines for 2026 and for 2025 don’t look all that different from the Hzrdus PX4 set that was introduced a few back now, but one of the benefits of having Lefevre build and design True’s goalie gear is how Leferve ensures the yearly upgrades apply across the entire lineup of gear and not just the latest and greatest. Which is why this review is relevant for all of their gloves available this year and not just the L95 line, which graphics you can see here.
Thanks to the people behind True’s goalie department for sending me this L95 set to review and compare against the previous PX4 set. I will have a full review of the L95 goalie pads (which will show off how flexible the “butterfly” style of pad can be!) as well as the blocker with the new OPTIANGLE design.

The biggest change on True’s goalie catching glove for the 2025 and 2026 model years is completely hidden away, True updated the foam package and now uses a more expensive foam that feels very similar to Poron foam. Which has been seen in hockey before with the Poron XRD version, while this foam isn’t Poron XRD specifically, it has the similar properties of the “smart” XRD foam and you can feel the foam slowly rebound back into shape. This is noticeable the most from a “testing” standpoint right along the break on the inside of the glove and on the “XTRA” part on the palm. This new foam also allows the glove to close considerably easier right off the shelf or out of the custom box! With no use my new True L95 glove closed better than my year old PX4 glove. See the Instagram post below for an example.
The other massive benefit of the upgraded foams is a significant step up in protection. While I never had issues with my pro palm True PX4, the 2025 and 2026 models have been the most protective goalie catching glove I have ever used. Only the alienlike Maxond Heretic glove has been more protective in my usage and puck machine testing.
Finally, I did notice a small change on the tee of the 2025 and 2026 versions of True gloves which now has a thicker and more reinforced tee section. I haven’t noticed a different between the two tees but I’ve always referred a reinforced tee option to help the tee from folding over on pucks that just hit the tip.
While this review doesn’t cover all of the details of the True 600 glove, I previously reviewed a 2024 build of the True Hzrdus PX4 glove here on Youtube and seen below.
Overall this is the most protective and one of the easiest closing pro palm gloves I have used. I already was a huge fan of the older True 600 models and the new foam package simply brings it to another level. I can easily recommend True goalie gloves and their 3 different break angles offer something for goalies with all different break options.
If this video and article helped you with getting a better idea on what hockey pant to purchase, it would be greatly appreciated if you helped support this channel by buying hockey equipment through these links (I get a kick back in sales) if you are in the US at Pure Hockey or if you are in Canada through Just Hockey. If you ended up buying a Pro Stock Hockey Stick because of my content it would be greatly appreciated if you let them know Hockey Reviews content is helpful and you want to see more of their product reviewed!
While I also hate to promote my other things, it has become evident to me it is important to get a viewer base that will help me continue doing reviews like this (I can’t afford to always buy new equipment!).
